Blog #20 Poetry by Kacey Marra

9-27-12

These are quite enjoyable when read out loud by my son Ethan!

The Isolated Egg

The lonely egg rolled out of the purse,

Deep into the back of the car.

Did the egg know where it was going?

Did the egg care?

Sad Geese

I saw some geese flying by

Maybe they’re going south.

Why did that make me sad?

Banana

The banana sits on my desk,

A reminder of all that is lost.

Why are you so ripe, little banana?

Is it because you’ve been neglected?

Perhaps you required too much attention.

Beer

You taste like malt.

I cannot fault

All that you do.

I love you, beer.

No fear.

Anger Inside

The feelings were simmering,

They were bubbling,

Trying to reach the surface.

I kept them down,

Deep inside.

Everyone is happier,

If I keep my anger inside.

Foods I like to Eat Raw

Broccoli.

Carrots.

Tomatoes.

And.

That’s.

It.
