Sudheer Kumar Ravuri, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Associate

Hi, I am a virologist born in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, India.  After finishing my Masters in virology I moved to New Delhi, India for my Ph. D in microbiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).  There I studied HIV drug resistance as my thesis topic and also participated in HIV vaccine development program. Then, I moved to University of Pittsburgh for my postdoctoral fellowship to pursue my further research in virology.

It was my dream to participate in a basic science research program right after attending a short term training in one of the labs of Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. Now the opportunity has come to pursue in that direction and motivated me to join the lab. I joined the friendly team and cheerful directors, in April, 2010 to study the biology and plasticity of adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs).

I am married to Beryl and I love my home. Beryl and I would like to become involved in Church activities and rejoice in serving the Lord.
