Blog #12 I’ve been on a diet for 18 years
5-6-12
Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since my last blog. I have been very busy this past semester. But now summer is just around the corner and I’m looking forward to a little more free time!
Today’s topic is dieting. As the title indicates, I have been on a diet for a very long time. The dieting officially began the year before my wedding. I wanted to look as great as possible in my wedding gown in 1994. I did not diet during my first pregnancy, and gained 38 lbs. I didn’t lose it all because we knew when Ethan turned 1, we wanted to have another baby. I was more careful during my second pregnancy and only gained 22 lbs. After LeeAnna I was on the South Beach diet and lost all of my baby weight! But it’s very challenging to avoid carbs forever. After my third pregnancy, (gaining 25 lbs), I tried various diets, but turning 40 is tough! My metabolism has definitely slowed down. Actually, it may be gone!
But starting today, I am on the 75 DAY DIET! I chose 75 days because that is exactly how many days until our summer vacation! This is going to be a strict diet: No sweets, no alcohol, very low carbs, and no snacks. And plenty of exercise. I do belong to a gym and go to classes pretty regularly. But I’m going to step it up and work out at home too!
I would like to chronicle my journey on this blog, but I think many people would not find it too interesting. Too bad. I’m going to blog about it anyway! I will record my weight loss (fingers crossed!) and also confess if I cheat. I am going to allow myself one cheat meal every 7 days.
I will definitely need the support of my friends and family. Wish me luck! And send me your dieting tips. I need them!! (And happy birthday to my awesome brother today!)
Have a great day!

Blog #1 Introduction

Look forward to reading more of you work and more of your blogs when they are up. Adult stem cells, tissue regeneration, and understanding cellular differentiation fates are all exciting area’s of research.
I like that you’re a non-doting wife AND you assume a hawk would steal your iPhone. It’s true: you ARE an all around humorous person!
Kacey-
You crack me up! When I need a smile – I look for a Kacey post. . . . And now I have a Kacey blog also – watch out lips you are in for in up-lifting workout.
I need you to reconsider “the cloning Kacey thing”. I’m sure there would be a waitlist for the Kacey Clones, and I’d have to wait for one to go on sale or the price to come down – but I want a “San Antonio Kacey” (we could come up with a better name). You could winter down here, send the clone up for the winter and then switch in the summer. I could learn how you get a million and one things done, stay sane and still have time to entertain the rest of us . . . And you could still do the book thing!
Just keep cloning on the maybe list . . . It’s the only way I see getting “Kacey” to SA long-term.
Kacey,
I’m actually interested in know if you have any good protocols that you can share about the isolation of MSC (or MSC-like according to some) cells from adipose tissue. I’ve only worked with the tissue once, and had very little luck in isolating my target cells. Adipose is far different than other cell culture materials I’ve worked with, and any advice/guides/pictures etc you could offer would be great!
Matt, Please send me your email address and I will send you our protocol.
buenos dias. i like your blog Blog Adipose Stem Cell Center and will most definitely do a link to http://adiposelab.com/blog/ on my site.

Hello Kacy,
I just want to add my experience to stress out during holidays. Painting is good way to spend our free time, I usually draw and paint all the greeting cards for Christmas and New Year and post them on time so my friends can get surprise. Even though greeting cards are available at every mall and they are very cheap, but they lacks the affection and love expressed my hand made cards. rawing and painting helps you to concentrate on one thing and helps to some level to release your stress. Thanks for posting, I hope to see new topics in coming years.
